STOLID written by Aaron D. Key is the third book in the Wheel Of Eight series. The book has a interesting notion throughout and it represents the inner conflict of Stolid, the main protagonist of the story. The book begins with Stolid being lost in the heavy rain with no recollection about where he was. Then he is offered a lift to London by a person he finds familiar but had no memory of. After being drenched in the rain, Stolid falls asleep in the warmth of the car but when he wakes up he finds the stranger has taken him to someplace he knows nothing of.

The story has many interesting characters, especially the romantic interests of Stolid. I found his chemistry with his two romantic partners quite wonderful. The insecurities, doubts and complex thoughts were written with such precision one could easily connect with the protagonist. The writer was quite poetic with his writing and it felt so good to read the story. A young man trying to navigate through life with insecurities and doubt with his sexuality.

The story ended with a twist that was unexpected honestly. But I really liked the brief relationship of Stolid with Jonathan, mainly because Stolid was more matured during this relationship and tried to understand the complexes of the nature of a human. Stolid relationship with Joseph was short but beautiful but they drifted apart because Joseph had doubts about his sexuality and his parents brought more insecurity within him. The sexual part of the relationship was mostly kept to imagination, well it was very much intriguing to me.

The story had flashbacks woven into it intricately and sometimes it became a problem to understand where the reader was standing in the present or the past. I had to read it twice sometimes to understand that part. But overall it was an amazing read and I surely recommend it to adult readers who still question their sexuality and have insecurities to expose there thoughts to the world.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 as this story is beautifully written and the poetic verses makes you want to read it again and again.
