In a desperate attempt to get away from her over-domineering parents and cheating groom, Jeremy, Lauren, with help from her friend Aubrey, leaves her wedding and takes the next bus out of town. She did not care where she went as long as it was far away from Jeremy and her parents, but her ticket only took her as far as Breckenridge, Colorado, where she got a job at the Goldfinch Ridge Bed and Breakfast. Thatcher Metal Works CEO Caleb lives lavishly as a non-committal, wealthy playboy and womanizer. After his Atlanta party house burns down and Felicity's online post claiming he is a cheater goes viral, he is advised by his lawyer and publicist to leave town for a while. Caleb ends up at the Goldfinch Ridge Bed and Breakfast, where he meets Lauren and becomes captivated by her. Will Jeremy and Lauren's parents find her? Does Caleb stand a chance with Lauren, who has given up on men? To find out, grab a copy of The Billionaire's Runaway Bride (Breckenridge Book 1) by Emery Cruz.

Emery Cruz has done an excellent job with character development, ensuring that everyone plays a crucial role in the story. Even two older men playing chess in the coffee shop play a significant role in the plot. One of my favorite characters was Marian. Although it was rude of her to reveal secrets, her actions kept the plot moving forward at an exciting pace because I wondered what the ramifications would be for her disloyalty. Each chapter focused on Lauren or Caleb, which gave me insight into their perspectives and emotions. I liked that Emery Cruz showed how abuse comes in many different forms; it is not only physical harm.

I disliked Jeremy and Lauren's parents because of their behavior towards Lauren. However, this negative aspect played perfectly with the story's plot and did not affect the perfect rating I gave this book. I found no reason not to give this professionally edited book 5 out of 5 stars because of the positive aspects discussed above, my reading enjoyment, and the lessons I learned. I am sure the rest of the books in this series will be just as exciting as this one, and I look forward to reading them.

If you enjoy reading dramatic romance novels, you will enjoy reading this book. However, this book is not appropriate for younger or more sensitive readers because of the abuse, descriptive sexual content, and non-borderline profanity.

Emery Cruz's "The Billionaire's Runaway Bride" masterfully blends romance, drama, and character development in a captivating narrative. The complex relationships and personal growth of Lauren and Caleb make for an engaging read. While the book tackles heavy themes, its well-crafted plot and dynamic characters ensure a satisfying and thought-provoking experience.

You know...running away from one controlling relationship to another is a classic almost every woman goes through every now and then . This is enough to make you fall in love with Lauren and her runaway tactics only to find herself in Jeremy's arms. I love how the book unfolds it sounds really interesting. It is worth reading

Just the name alone hints at your typical dramatic love story. The kind you get to see at Christmas on those Hallmark Channel series. If you are a hopeless romantic like me who thinks every abused, despised, and scorned lover deserves a happy ending, then I think this book ticks it for you. And to read how great the characters development are is commendable. Congrats Emery Cruz on your heartwarming story in The Billionaire's Runaway Bride.
