Sanity Siphoned

Post by Tayla »

"Sanity Siphoned" is a book written by Isabelle Arocho. The book is very captivating. I do not recommend this for some due to the content that has very serious matters that many teens face. It also has inappropriate moments for too young ages. I am 13 and it was not an issue because it's extent of sexual moments are not very explicit.

This book is about a girl named Julienne who is bullied at school by Michael. Julienne's worst nightmare happens when her mom and Michael's become friends. It is new territory when Michael tries a new tactic to bother Julienne. It back fires when an attraction appears between the two.

The difficulty is Julienne has depression issues because of her past and how she blames herself for a tragedy. I'm not gonna say the tragedy that would be a spoiler. Will Michael be too embarrassed about having a relationship with the schools "loser"? Will Julienne be able to get over how Michael treated her for years? Will Michael be able to change? Or will he go back to his torturing ways? Will he help her when she needs him most?

In my opinion this book is one I recommend to you. You will love it if you can get past certain things. It's a great book and realistic to an extent. It talks about sadness, tragedy, depression, getting over difficulties, and love. It has twist and turns that will make you reach for some tissues. It will also make you angry enough to want to slap some characters. It will also get you giddy with happiness. There are also hilarious moments curtsy of Julienne's best friend and sometimes Michael's older brother. It makes you feel what the characters do. BUT, the thing I didn't like was how Julienne was able to be even the slightest bit attracted to Michael so quickly when he was an a**hole. The book is about 300 or less pages depending on the font size. Go check it out if you think it's a book that interest you it sure interested me!
