Icon Nothing left to lose

Post by Tayla »

The book "Nothing Left to Lose" is by Kristy Moseley. This book is about love, loss and grief. It's not just a romance but also a thriller. It has a bundle of suspense. It is not your regular sappy romance, but one that has moments that will make your heart pound with anticipation. This book has a subject matter that is not recommended for most of a young age. This is due to also because of the sexual content. Not too heavy where it is unsuitable for young age.

Annabelle Spencer's life is every girls dream. She has wonderful parents, friends, and the perfect boyfriend, Jack Roberts. Every thing takes a turn for the worst on her 16th birthday when her world comes crashing down around her. Her night turns into a nightmare. Jack gets murdered in front of her and she is kidnapped by his murderer Carter Thomas, a big time drugs and arms dealer.

After ten months of being with Carter, she is found and saved. The experience has completely changed her. She is no longer a happy-go-lucky girl that everyone used to know and love. She is now cold and reclusive. She suffers from night terrors. You realize that Carter did not only break her body, but her spirit too. Her new slogan is "If you don't care about anything, then you have nothing left to lose".

Carter is currently serving time for the murder of Jack, a conviction Anna helped secure. But his retrial is coming up because the key evidence appears to have been tampered with. Unknown to Anna, death threats are being received and her father, the senator is hiding them. Carter is also sending letter about wanting Anna back and will stop at nothing to have his "princess" back.

Ashton Taylor is brought in to be her protector. He is a newly qualified SWAT agent, a bright spark, the agency's golden boy. He is assigned to be undercover, posing as her boyfriend. His job is to help her through college and keep her safe until the end of the trial in eight months. For three years she has been the broken, damaged girl, refusing to feel emotion or pain but can Ashton help her rebuild her life? Help her deal with losing her childhood sweetheart? Will he show her not all men will hurt her? As the trial looms over them both taunting them, reminding them it is not over yet.

This book is full of suspense and thrill. The romance of the two is heart warming but will it end happy? or will Carter succeed? If you read this it will make you cry and have your heart stopping with fear. There are moments that will make you laugh. There are some nail biting moments. There are some heart breaking moments. You will enjoy this read. It is a very long read but it does not have unnecessary droning that makes you want to go to sleep, on the contrary it makes you lose sleep wanting to read more and more. Once you put it down because you know you need to sleep all you can think about is what will happen next?

This review gives me a sensation to read something so realistic. A traumatized girl who used to be lucky. That's good stuff.

Kristy Moseley is an amazing writer! I've read all her books but this one is by far my favourite. The idea of this book was so unique and touching at the same time. I recommend everyone to read it!

She was a new writer for me, was happy to get it for free from amazon. As much as I loved it, I feel guilty to say I didn't finish it. It pulled me in but couldn't hold my attention.
