Lily works as a nurse when a new doctor, Ethan Caldwell, joins her hospital as the chief. Lily is attracted to him, but rumors follow him. People say he murdered his ex-wife. Lily, a dedicated single mother, wants to find happiness but also must protect her daughter. Lily, having married her high school sweetheart only for him to run off and abandon her and his daughter, is wary of allowing romance back into her life. Will Lily take a chance on Ethan? Are the rumors about him true? Read The Off Limits Billionaire Doctor by J.R. Jofre to find out.

The character of Lily was my favorite part of the book. I admired her devotion to her daughter, Emily. Even when thinking of pursuing a relationship with Ethan, she made sure to think of how that would impact Emily. This devotion remained consistent throughout the book, which I appreciated. I also thought that Lily's skill and confidence at work was inspiring. She refused to back down when she knew her approach would work. Overall, she was a likable character.

One main dislike of the book was the lack of a concrete timeline. I struggled to know how much time had passed between major events in the novel. There were a few times when Jofre would mention a month or day had passed, but in general, it seemed as though these details were missing, and I would have appreciated a few more. I also thought the ending was quite rushed. I wish that Jofre would have slowed the pace in the last third of the book to give more attention to the major plot points.

I rate this book 3 out of 5 stars. While I enjoyed the characterization, I thought the ending was rushed, and the overall timeline was confusing. For these reasons, I am taking off two stars. The book was also well-edited, as I only noticed a few errors. The Off Limits Billionaire Doctor is a great option for those who enjoy closed-door romance novels. I believe that the book is suitable for both adults and older teenagers.

I see a lot of red flags that Lily must not ignore. This doctor is a new chief. His wife died. She has been abandoned by someone she loved and trusted. She has to be careful before getting romantically involved again. Well, I can only hope that my advise was followed in the book.

Thank you for this insightful and honest review. Even when a story is captivating, as a reader I like to have a good reading experience. I appreciate your remarks about the timeline and the pace of the story towards the end.

The dynamics between Lily and Ethan sound intriguing, especially with the added tension of the rumors surrounding him. I appreciate the focus on Lily's dedication as a mother and her professional confidence. It seems like the author creates a relatable character in her. I can see how a clearer timeline could enhance the story, though. It sounds like a captivating read for those who enjoy romantic tension and character-driven narratives.

I appreciated the focus the book gave, as highlighted in the review, on protecting a child's feelings and safety. A single parent, upon deciding to pursue a love interest with someone, shall consider carefully the consequences of such choice. For a child to be exposed to a new relationship of their single parents may be unsettling and lead to trust issues. The decision to date shall be made cognizant of the state of the young one and shall prioritize his/her health.
