If you found the person you are destined to be with, what would you do? What if your pain and your past were so complicated, you were not able to trust anyone? The Road to Ezra by Samantha Huffman follows Ezra, a teenage she-wolf trying to survive in a complicated world. When her best friend Kit takes her to a college party, she meets handsome and mysterious Bash. He seems interested in Ezra, but her complicated life, her secrets, and her fears are pushing him away until something happens, and he is the only one that can help her. What will happen between Ezra and Bash? What secrets is Ezra hiding? Who is Bash, and why is everyone so interested in their relationship?

I was captivated by this book since the beginning; I could not put it down. I just wanted to keep reading. Ezra is a unique character; her growth through the book is perfectly written, but at times I wanted to yell at her—she made me so mad and frustrated, something only realistic characters can do. The author’s language is simple, yet mature. I also loved that, despite the book using a popular topic (supernatural creatures like werewolves), it does not feel cliché or predictable.

Unfortunately, as much as I loved Ezra and the way she was written, the rest of the characters didn’t seem so well developed to me. Bash, Kit, and Gabe seemed to have so much potential but ultimately were not as interesting and captivating as Kit. There was also a lot of profanity, much of which I felt was unnecessary.

I have mixed feelings about the book. The plot kept me engaged; I could not stop reading, but at the same time, I got so mad and frustrated at Ezra that I just wanted to yell at her. The book also needs editing, as there are several errors, mostly about punctuation and capitalization, and after the first chapters, it gets upsetting. The ending is another thing I loved and hated at the same time, but maybe love wins because I hope the author writes another book so I can discover how Ezra’s story ends. Because of everything I have said, I rate this book 3 out of 5 stars.

I recommend this book to young adults and to mature readers. There is sexual content and profanity, so the book is not suitable for a younger audience. There are also scenes of abuse, so those who are triggered by it should avoid the book.

It’s great that you were honest about both what worked and what didn’t, especially highlighting the strong emotional impact Ezra’s character had. It sounds like a compelling read for those who like supernatural themes with real, messy emotions, but with a heads-up on mature content and triggers.

:D I would say this book is nice , it's captivate
.. but I think some characters had the potential to grow but didn't like ..they could have improved some characters like kit and bash... I think Ezra's story didn't end well... I would like the author to write another story because I would love to see how her still on the ends... But at the end the book is amazing it's lovely talked about love , heartbreak ,healing
.. it's a whole different perspective of love... So I would give this a solid 4 star

This book is not in one of my preferred genres and I find recurrent editing issues to be quite distracting when I read, so I will pass on this book. Thank you for sharing your honest thoughts.

This is a wonderfully honest review of The Road to Ezra! I appreciate how you highlighted Ezra's compelling character growth and the fresh take on werewolves. While the engaging plot sounds intriguing, your point about the underdeveloped supporting characters like Bash and Kit is a deal-breaker for me. Bad character development is a pet peeve, so I'll be skipping this one. Thanks for the candid insight.

I would give this book a read to see how Ezra responds to Bash, but I also don't like books that use too much profanity if it doesn't seem necessary. Sci-fi is usually not my favorite genre, but this book also seems to have a healthy dose of romance, which I would enjoy!
