Review for Kiss an Angel by Susan Elizabeth Phillips (spoile

Post by Arie_ »

This is the official Summary. Not mine. This can be found on Amazon.
How did pretty, flighty Daisy Devreaux find herself in this fix? She can either go to jail or marry the mystery man her father has chosen for her. Alex Markov, however, has no intention of playing the loving bridegroom to a spoiled little featherhead with champagne tastes. As humorless as he is deadly handsome, he drags the irrepressible Daisy away from her uptown life and sets out to tame her.

Except it won't be as easy as he thinks. This man without a soul has met a woman who's nothing but heart. Will vows spoken in haste shatter . . . or offer the promise of love everlasting?

My review
I was not impressed. To start this party the first 15 chapters were spent trying too break a woman for no reason. She's literally done nothing wrong yet everybody in this book felt this need to insult her , humiliate her , and control her. Nobody gave Daisy Devreaux the benefit of the doubt. Her father is a selfish man and her mother was equally selfish. The hero Alex really sickened me. He goes out of his way to make life tough for her. When she does break he decided to give her all the superficial things he thought she'd demand. He was selfish cold arrogant and he pushed the dub con limits. She forgave him for everything and even denying her love denying their baby and hurting her all because of a declaration of love. I think the author broke this woman's spirit and did not use the same amount of effort to heal it.
