I think this sounds like one to read if you like fantasy, even with some minor pitfalls.
@debo9967 great job, you commending the author on something that is hard to do right now says a lot. Fantasy is done a lot so to be unique at all is huge!!

I appreciate your pointing out how 'the author needs to be commended for the rather original treatment of the fantasy creatures in the story'. Great review!

I read your review and I read the book! I liked the story line and the details in the book. I rated the book 4 stars and I would read more of the authers books!

I wasn't able to get very far into the book, mainly due to sentence structure and how it flowed. The sentences were complete, but very short so reading seemed very choppy to me. This is mainly due to style, so not necessarily a bad thing. But the only way I can read stories with that style is if the story grabs me from the onset, which I didn't get when I started reading. The scenes the author starts with are interesting, but don't flow very well from one to each other so I didn't raelly get a sense of what Alex's world was like. There are some good premises, but more work needs to be done for it to be a truly enjoyable read.
