I, along with some others, enjoyed the love story, mingled in with the extreme descriptive sex scenes. Others just saw it as erotic sex and a poorly written book. Everyone has their own opinion. People like different things, that's why different types of books are written.

I was reluctant to read it from what I had heard about it, but I read it because a friend highly recommended it. I am very glad I read it and wish the saga would continue.

I love the love story that it is. even reading it the 2nd, 3rd and 5th time (yes I am slightly addicted to it.) I still cry and laugh at it.

The friend who recommended the book to me has read it multiple times, too. I can't usually read a book the second time.

I think I might possibly be the only one out of my friends and coworkers that had no interest in reading this. Everyone has been raving about it. My female coworkers have long drawn out discussions about it at work and I'm just like...okay?

The book is about sex, sex, and more sex! The lines are cheesy, and the story is repetitive throughout the trilogy (I can't live without you...this is never going to work...I can't live without you...this is never going to work) but the sex is intense and that's what makes it so popular. This is a series for all those desperate housewives out there looking for a little excitement. Husbands beware!

So you didn't get that he was mentally ill from his terrible childhood and Ana fixed him?

I actually had a friend who apologised to me for not warning me about the book. To be honest, I felt the hype wasn't warranted and was left cold by the whole thing. Perhaps I couldn't relate to Ana but I think it did less for women's sexuality, rather than more.

If you expect from a sex book to have some literary value, it's like expecting from a porn movie to deserve an Oscar!

I read the first one but it took me awhile to get through. I thought it was okay. I started reading the second one almost a year ago and just never got into it. Maybe someday.

I didn't actually consider 50 Shades to be a sex book. The movie is supposed to come out next year, but I doubt if it will have as much sex in it as the book had. We'll see how it does at the box office. An Oscar? Probably not.

I think many people (women) are going to watch it because of the book success and how much they liked it. I think it might be something like "Twilight". I mean, a chick flick. Well, we'll see.

I personally loved the trilogy. It is a erotica book with bdsm. I have read all 3 books and if you are curious at all just read it. Everyone has their own taste.
