She finds friendship and later love in her master's son, James, who will take her on a journey to expose her talent to the world. Historical romance lovers will appreciate this book. This a lengthy historical drama with plenty of facts pertaining to slavery interspersed in the fictional story. I have downloaded the entire book to read as it seems to be a horrifyingly fascinating, yet real, and incredibly sad subject. I look forward to reading this book.

A story that surely touches a mother's heart. There's a feeling of mercy, compassion, and horror when Lily gripped off from Maya's arms. Through the years, Lily's life being a slave was full of hopes and a dramatic journey. Lily will surely inspire others because of her determination and being humble.
