Great review, especially the warnings about the explicit scenes. I've just sampled the first two chapters and am somewhat enamoured by the plot. However I found the grammar mistakes distracts me a lot. For instance appeared was used instead of appealed. Therefore this book has been placed on my TBR list, but way down.

I thought that even the cover seemed a bit racy for the blurb that seems to point toward this being a young adult novel. It’s good to know that this is really better aimed at the older side of the young adult spectrum. It’s also good to know that this stands alone and can be read independently of the others. I liked the solid review and critique of this book and I quite agree with the comment concerning young adult readers. The only colloquialism I noticed near the beginning "Cheers mate", was quickly dropped by Mel as she seemed to be trying her best to fit in quickly with everyone else and she had a few weeks to get to know her neighbor Ebony so the reader is left to assume this helped her to quickly assimilate.

I felt the mix of romance, paranormal undertones would appeal to those who like that genre. The secrets surrounding Jason, Jaden and their sister kept the story interesting.

The book seems to be exciting with enough twists and turns to keep the reader occupied till the end of the book. Besides it will be interesting to read what life lessons and situations made Melanie grow from an immature teenager to grown-up, serious woman. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

This sounded like an interesting storyline at first, but I'm really not thrilled with the inclusion of underage teens having unsafe sex and drinking. Those are just huge turnoffs for me. I realize that can be quite an accurate portrayal of a teen's life but I don't feel like it should be promoted by authors. I'm also discouraged by the reviewers stating the dialogue is stilted and unrealistic coming from teens. There is also some other commentary in the reviews that has dissuaded me from reading this book, but I don't want to give any spoilers. I'll pass on this one.
