I wasn't expecting quite the erotic parts in a non-erotic version, but it was beautifully done. I have read this book and the next two because I found it enticing. A romance story with a touch of history seems to blend so well. I am really grateful that there is no longer such slavery in the current world. Discrimination due to skin tone is so bad and the slaves during those times really suffered.
