Looking Glass Friends by E.L.Neve, the book shows how two complete strangers, Neil and Ellie, each having their own family, one live with the guilt of cheating and the other live in a routine life, become inseparable soulmates. Though the ending seems obvious, the way it describes how it happens is the success of this book. Readers who are longing for better life, better friends, better life partners or who are waiting for their soulmates will feel this book very emotional. It may disappoint those who believes sacrifices in marriage and accepting the life partner in the way they are, even if he/she is completely different from ours, for the sake of children.

I really appreciate the way author explains each person’s emotions from their perspective and everything seems to be acceptable. The reader can feel both the love between soulmates and the pain of their spouses at the same time. It also describes how a wife and a husband tries to save their marriages in two different ways and how the soulmates deal with it in a matured manner. The narration of the story is extraordinary. There are many quotations and poems mentioned which some people may feel overwhelming but it is necessary for the story to explain the friend’ passions, which convince us to think that both friends need to be together forever even if we had different thoughts before.

When Ellie write “I wish someone would invent messaging by cellphone”, it makes us realize that the story happens in 1997. And many other quotations throughout the book were very nice and my favorite is “Don’t look from the present to the past, look from the present to the future” which itself explains the theme of the story.

The story was written in two parts. When I read the book, it creates the curiosity of what happens next throughout the first part. And I feel little slow in the starting of second part but it ends happily. The words used by E.L.Neve are extraordinary, one example is when the main character’s thought changes from “my husband” to “my son’s father” when she realizes what real love is. What I mostly liked about this book is the emotions that it carries throughout and the feel of love. I don’t have anything that I disliked about this book.

This book seems to me as well narrated and edited. I will give 4 out of 4 stars for this book because i don't see any flaws and I liked the book very much. I would definitely recommend this book.
