Looking Glass Friends

Looking Glass Friends by E L Neve is a fascinating story of modern day romance issues. Two married people face their ugly truths about happiness, what love means to them and deciding what's best for their future. I'd like to rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. This is deserving of a perfect score because I found absolutely zero spelling errors.

I would say this book looks professionally edited, I find it written exceptionally well. I think the author did an amazing job creating a modern twist on an entangled romance story between two married couples. The author did well describing each family in detail, I felt like part of the group of people as if my presence was near getting to know them personally.

I loved how E.L. Neve used love letters and emails as the connection between the two strangers. This gave it an old fashioned feeling mixed with modern day technology. Most people of all ages can relate to this type of communication now days; but those with an old soul or who are older in age can appreciate the symbolism of the hand written letters and how that can be so personal compared to emails through a screen. The touch, the smell, the handwriting and overall uniqueness of hand written letters can be so comforting and full of feeling. Emails can feel impersonal but can also have their own flare of personal connection between two people if done right. There's wasn't anything I didn't like about this book.

To briefly summarize, two strangers who shop at the same bakery, cross paths for a moment and end up being more connected than they ever thought they could be. Starting with a book and a hand written note, conversation began to flow and unfold new feelings. Both of them were married, unsatisfied by every day life; lost in their own worlds feeling unconnected other than through a good book. They werent expecting to find comfort in someone other than their own spouse. With no intention of infidelity, they still connect so deeply in each others minds. Isn't this still cheating in a way?

Soon the couples see the truth and each person starts a new path, not knowing yet what was to come of Neil and Ellie. For those who love to cozy up to a good romantic book, I suggest this read. Adult women and men could get a kick out of this one.
