Lost and Love: Thailand (Book One of the Lost and Love Series by Stella Knights. The book tells the story of Savanah and Johnny, a young couple that is losing the spark in their marriage. Savanah feels disappointed with their sex life so she plans a short romantic time together to get it exciting, as it used to be when they were only dating. She is convinced that they both only need a holiday away from their stressing jobs and family to get the spark back. After some difficulties convincing Johnny, she arranges their vacation in different destinations in the exotic and beautiful islands of Thailand.
Savanah is a very likable character, she shows her insecurities all over the book and suffers by the indifference of Johnny, who has other priorities besides their marriage. A marriage where Savanah always comes at last.
I'm going to be honest, I hated Johnny, he puts down his wife in every chance he gets, he is dishonest and is always worried about everything except her. Besides that, He expects her to be okay with the treatment of his family towards her. A family that never accepted her and is always trying to point out her defects.
Once they get to Thailand, the magic starts. We see them battling for keeping alive a marriage that might be doomed already.
Stella Knights is great at describing scenery and places so we get a good picture of the beauty of Thailand and what the characters are experiencing. We get to meet islands and beaches filled with animal life and beautiful people.
I would recommend this book for people who enjoy 18+ romance. The book is packed with sexual scenes and sexual comments. Of course, these scenes are described with a good taste from the author's perception and don't feel tacky or rushed. Many erotic fiction books battle when making the scenes feel real. They often exaggerate body parts or actions to create something they think will be appealing to readers, but luckily, the author doesn't make that mistake and all the scenes feel natural. You can see the character's emotions in every step they take as you read along, which adds more realism to the story.
So, if you're into 18+ romance this is for you, but, if you prefer softer romance novels, this book may not be for you.
What I liked the most about the book is the development of Savanah. She is a woman with many dreams and expectations, but, she is used to hiding her feelings to keep peace in her marriage. This makes her a target for her husband and his family's ill-intentioned comments and attacks.
Throughout the book, however, she changes and learns to stand up for herself. I enjoyed the development and how the author presents the positive changes she takes on her life.
I don't think there was something I didn't enjoy or disliked in this book. The writing was great and the editing was spotless. For this, I decided to rate the book 4 out of 4 stars. This is a great read and I can't wait for the second installment since the book ends in a cliffhanger and oh boy! what a cliffhanger.
