Lost and Love: Thailand (Book One of the Lost and Love Series) by Stella Knights is all about passion and how important passion is in life.
Savannah turns to Thailand in the hopes of putting some passion back into her life and marriage. She convinces her husband, Johnny, to embark on a long-needed trip away from all the demands of their lives. There, she tries to put the spark back into their relationship by spicing up their sex life. But when Johnny suggests something that could take it a step too far, is Savannah prepared to risk it all for the sake of passion?
Lost and Love: Thailand has passion as a ruling theme. Savannah uses passion as a kind of standard to measure her life against. It’s a thing she strives for, a thing she holds on to as the solution to her marital problems. Lost and Love: Thailand embodies what life is like without passion and you can’t really blame Savannah for trying to find passion in her life.
The thing I liked most about this book is its open-mindedness towards passion and sex. It might be a bit controversial for some as it deals with things like polyamory and non-monogamy, though. I like the way Knights used Savannah's innocence to explore and question what we view as sexually "normal". She uses Pam, Savannah's best friend, as a way to introduce Savannah to foreign sexual ideas and experiences. In turn, this makes Savannah mull over these different ideas, thus taking the reader along as she thinks things through.
Another great thing about the book is how relatable Savannah’s reality is. She finds herself in a job she doesn’t like, a marriage she’s unhappy in, and a world where she doesn’t feel she can be herself. She bends over backwards to keep her husband happy, at great cost to herself. It’s a situation that many people all over the world find themselves in.
There wasn’t anything about the book I disliked. The story flowed well. The characters were real and tangible. The author’s style was comfortable to read. Everything about the book was great. There truly isn’t anything for me to critique.
Potential readers should be aware that the book contains explicit erotic scenes. Stella Knights handled them beautifully though. They aren’t vulgar or off-putting. There are scenes containing threesomes and infidelity, so be aware of that before picking up Lost and Love: Thailand.
This book is not appropriate for younger readers. Readers who are sensitive to slightly unconventional sexual themes should maybe avoid this book. I would recommend this book to anyone over the age of 18. I think this book would be especially suitable for married women who might find themselves in a less-than-ideal marriage.
I rate Lost and Love: Thailand 4 out of 4 stars. The book is exceptionally well-edited. I didn't find any mistakes. Lost and Love: Thailand is one of those books that make you want to curl up and read through the entire day. It was a pleasure to read and a pleasure to review.
