One Way or Another: The Sisters Quartet Book One by Mary J. Williams is the first of a series about four beautiful, successful, wealthy sisters: Andi, Calder, Bryce, and Destry, and their promiscuous mother, Billie. Book One is Calder's story.
Calder Benedict is Founder and CEO of Erica's Angels, a non-profit charitable organization in New York City. She was raised in wealth and is now thriving and wealthy in her own right. However, She has not been able to find someone she can trust to love her for herself, not for her money. Her date the previous night had ended badly, and she convinced herself she would never find true love. Calder was tired of the dating games and decided to forget about romance and focus on her career. Then she met Adam Stone. Their personalities clashed. In spite of Calder finding Adam arrogant, and Adam seeing Calder as the spoiled rich girl, there was an undeniable mutual attraction between them.
The author drew a vivid picture of each character that brings them to life in the pages of the book. Her writing skills are such that you feel the emotions of the characters as the dialog progresses. Calder and Adam are the two main characters; however, Calder's mother, Billie, and her sisters, Andi, Bryce, and Destry, are significant to the story.
Williams has created a beautiful love story that will captivate the reader. The heart-pounding emotions and butterfly-in-the-stomach moments of new love are palpable. The breath-taking intimacy of a growing relationship; and the insecurity of letting yourself trust too much is apparent as the story unfolds. There are intimate sex scenes that are tastefully written but may not be suitable for younger readers. There is also strong profanity in the dialog, but it is not overdone,
Although the book is number one of a four-part series, it can easily be a stand-alone novel. What I liked most was the relationship between Calder and her sisters. I liked how Williams incorporated a powerful sisterly bond into the story. The chapter leading up to the ending held a bit of a surprise. I will leave that for the reader to discover. There is nothing I did not like about this book. The book is well-edited, although there are a few typos, mainly misspelled words; however, it was not enough to spoil my reading pleasure.
I am pleased to rate One Way or Another by Mary J. Williams 4 out of 4 stars. If you love a feel-good romance novel, you will want to read this book. I recommend it to mature readers due to the intimate scenes and profanity. The author did an outstanding job with the use of intimacy and profanity without being offensive.

Thank you! And thanks for stopping by and commenting.SomeoneInTheWorld wrote: ↑21 Oct 2019, 13:06 I am currently reading this book too and enjoy it very much. I too really like Adam's and Calder's love story and the relationship between the sisters. And I totally agree with you about the author's ability to make you feel what Calder feels, I find myself loughing and worrying and being excited whenever she is. Thanks for your wonderful review!
