Lara's Journal is an erotic and enticing story involving a psychiatrist-as the main character, who is undergoing some problems of her own. As a victim of kidnapping by a serial killer who was related to one of her clients, she is asked to help the client out again. Struggling with her past, she agrees and is opened to another story apart from her own to deal with. She is asked to help the client get through the graphic content of the novel about Lara's-an ex-lover of the client's life, who had passed away. The client wanted answers on who this mystery woman truly was. Throughout the story, the reader will experience instances that may hit close to home. I would not suggest this story to anyone who is suffering from PTSD due to a sexual encounter.

As a reader who loves crime and passion novels, this book is by far my favorite. It is the second book in a series but it stands alone, becoming a uniquely amazing tale. With each chapter comes its own set of intrigue and mystery in both Lara's journal entries, and the main character's. I found it difficult to put this book down and even found myself thinking about it when I wasn't able to read. I also enjoyed how the author goes into detail with a few real-life diagnoses. After reading this, I'm pretty sure I have ADHD. So for me, not only was this a great read but also delightfully informative.

The editor did a great job as I only found a few grammatical errors. Nonetheless, this did not interrupt the great read this book had to offer. Because I loved this book so much, I don't believe the few grammatical errors interrupted the story enough to lower the rating. I give this book 4 out of 4 stars.

Lara's Journal is a must-read for anyone into Stolckhome Syndrome type stories, Crime based on realistic events, and dark romance. As a lover of all three, this book quickly became my personal favorite and I look forward to reading much more of A. Gavazzoni's work.

This is not a story for anyone easily offended as there is a lot of erotic content and profanity. Also, anyone suffering from abuse. This story may get to you as you connect with the characters, but it is a fictitious tale.

I hope you give this book a chance as it is very captivating and will leave the reader yearning for more.

A fantastic novel, it seems. However, I believe that in order to truly appreciate this novel, I must first read Behind the Door. Excellent review, well done.
