I, Lena Watts, an avid reader, disliked most nothing about the book. I rate it a 4 out of 4. It was easy to read and most exciting. It is a journey in the historical west. This is an adventure that that has well build up and piques ones interest in this tale of romance and adventure set in the west in the 1897's. This a wonderful story of a woman in this period who takes a position as a school teacher and right off the top is introduced in such a way that shows dramatic interest because he, Mr. Honeycutt who now owns her land that in the past belonged to her very own Clark family when disaster struck the town, is in charge of her new teaching position, and is handsome as well as some one from her past who helped her as a child when the fever struck. She the heroine, Elizabeth Campbell, in Bittersweep, by Wareeze Woodson, is caught up in intrigue regarding a robbery of gold and the adventure and chase of who did it involved. She has a dashing strong character as Mr. Honeycutt to intervene for her and assist in the chase. She the main character is strong and thoughtful and ever so pursuantly and independent in this historical romantic adventure.

This most interesting historical journey in the past is connected with other warm and strong characters which in interplay in this woven tail. This is brought to life in a wonderful amazing story which has twists and turns! You never know what to expect when reading this journey of intrigue in the west and past of Texas which is the setting for this journey of Elizabeth and Mr. Honeycutt, as well as other the cast involved in the telling of this story. She has conflicts of emotions relating to her past as a child as well as reactions of that of a woman. The heroine is drawn to Mr. Honeycutt but has doubts as how he and other towns people will react to her. This is a beginning of an adventure which you will enjoy whole heartily. This a book which the family can read! It has no profanity and speaks of passion and love and desire in a tasteful way that is never vulgar or offensive as it speaks to young people as well as adults. It is wholesome and descriptive and delves into the thinking pattern of characters involved and entails a vivid picture of a classical western romance! It is wonderful how the author involves the readers with the storyline in this tale of twist and turn of this adventure. Enjoy reading!!
