Chameleons by Onyx Gold tell the story of Zia, a seemingly very ordinary woman, and the love triangle she gets herself into. Zia’s life becomes a romance mystery with so many secrets. Connections are made, lies are uncovered, some things get a bit weird, and lives are changed forever. Living a double life doesn’t work out for anyone so Zia must make a lot of hard choices.

She first meets the handsome, patient and perfect Bryce in the building she works in. Bryce understands, checks all the boxes and tears down Zia’s “independent woman” walls she’s put up to make herself very content with only having a life of work. It’s a match made in heaven; everyone is jealous of this fairy-tale they see.

Baxter Leopold attended a writer’s conference she spoke at previously and sent her his book pitch. His crime thriller, Chiseled Bone, has Zia hooked and she’s convinced it’s the diamond in the rough, the one to put her career on the map! Business quickly turns to pleasure making Zia’s head spin with all the passion and want she didn’t realize she was missing. That is, until she finds out Baxter Leopold is more of a pen name and she doesn’t know anything about this mystery billionaire she can’t let go of.

As soon as Zia was hooked on the first pages of Chiseled Bone, I realized I was captivated by Chameleon. It’s very well edited with tame erotica. The erotic scenes are just enough to make you blush without overdoing it showing off the gift Onyx Gold has. My only dislike is that there wasn’t more to Bryce. Baxter is such a complex huge character that it makes it seem like Bryce is the nice guy that finishes last, as they say. He seemed too nice and blinded by love because he was very simple compared to the fiery lover Baxter Leopold.

I give Chameleon by Onyx Gold 4 out of 4 stars and recommend it for readers of romance and erotica. 3 stars would just not be enough for this roller coaster of suspense that I highly recommend! Onyx Gold added tastes of different genres and made them beautifully work together. The love, anticipation, erotica, mystery and crime did not disappoint. My favorite part of Chameleon is the way I didn’t get bored anywhere. There wasn’t the fluff mixed in that you tend to skim over without even realizing it. Onyx Gold grabbed my attention and I was there to find out who Zia picked and how she overcomes the twists and turns thrown her way.
