I decided to read 2612 Cherryhill Lane by Glenn Vo because the synopsis caught my eye. I enjoy books that have more psychological issues that are discussed and this book certainly had them. I would give this book a 4 out of 4 stars because I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. It was very well written and I was motivated to continue reading to see what happens next. I also didn’t notice any editing errors which added to my decision to give it the highest score.

The book is about a man named Jonathon and a tragic event that takes place and changes the course of his life as well as his family’s life. Throughout the book you see Jonathon struggle with the accident that happened and how it still affects him years later. Jonathon continues to struggle but he meets a girl who inspires him and motivates him to forgive and move on. Jonathon also becomes more spiritual by attending bible classes and church to learn how to forgive and heal from the tragic accident.

One of the things that I liked most about this book was that it takes you on Johnathon’s journey to heal and forgive from his accident. I thought that it was well written in regards to all the psychological and physical trauma that was mentioned in the book. It made it more realistic and inspiring to read since important details were included that I would expect there to be. The overall storyline was very inspirational and it gave messages of hope.

What I liked the least about this book was that the romance felt cheesy and too simplistic. It would have been nice if there was more character development. It felt like I didn’t know them very well and I personally would have liked to see more personal conversations between the two so that I could get a deeper glimpse into what their personalities are like. However, this is just my personal preference and I still enjoyed reading it. In my opinion, it felt like the romance wasn’t the main focus of this book, it was more about Jonathon’s journey to recovery which I didn’t expect.

I would recommend this book to young adults who enjoy reading dark themes or trauma-related incidents. This book would also be good for Christians or anyone open-minded to religious teachings as it was very inspiring and it takes you on a journey with spirituality.
