Heartaches 2 - Bad Boy Vibes by HM Irwing is the continuation of a book that rocked me to the core with its explicit drugging and rape of the victims and yet Anna Simmons and Rafe Brown were on their way to a come back of sorts at the end of the first book. I am a complete sucker for a happy ending and if anyone deserved it more than these two, well I don't know whom else. The last line of the Prologue says it all: Love would withstand it all.

I give this book 4 stars out of 4, the editing alone warrants as much, I found only 2 typos in 150 pages. Again I will reiterate the graphic rape scenes, which are rehashed in this book, and even the steamy love scenes rate this a level 5 on an erotic scale and therefore no children under age 17 should read this book. I absolutely love this book series. My only caveat is the explicit nature, of which the author beautifully weaves a tale that I cannot put down. I finished this book in 1 day.

Anna and Rafe's love continues to grow stronger for one another as they each realize they are each other's rock. And we find out that Anna's rag tag group of friends from military school have hers and Rafe's back through thick and thin. Carter and Mark physically jump into the fray for the both of them. And beloved Pat Cash, as gay as can be and drooling over her man, would take on anyone for her including telling his family he is gay. I was ecstatic that the author chose to expand the storyline of other characters as well.

But just when you think it's safe to return home an astounding plot twist. A villain from the first book makes a return, in the most horrific way, coming after Aunt Bella no less! Anna should never have dropped those charges because Eric Dayton is not the only devil to walk among them. And will wonders never cease, does Matt Preston have a heart after all? Was he just as duped by his father Peter Preston? The most important question of all can Rafe and Anna stop the wedding?!

Inquiring minds want to know, including me but of course I must read the third installment of Heartaches. Now I have multiple happy endings I am looking forward to, Anna and Rafe and Pat Cash and Dan Andrews. And of course we must save Aunt Bella!
