Not many books can grab my attention and keep it but One Way or Another by Mary J. Williams did. The history with the girl’s mom and the different parentage made this book a little different. All four sisters have different dads and they all had to spend the summers away from each other with their different fathers. This created a stronger bond between the sisters and made them closer as a family.

This book was not the usual rich guy meets a poor girl but there was background and history. The characters were a little eclectic and their quirks made this book a little more interesting. I like this book so much I continued reading about the other sisters. I would give this book a rating of 4 out of 4. It was interesting, quick read and I was not bored halfway through the book. Somethings seemed a little too cliché, such as how Adam saved her from the bad boyfriend. Another thing was how easily they managed to create their businesses by just their names. This makes them seem a little flighty and spoiled.

Two of the sisters are twins but they have different fathers. This also made this book a little different. Even though the poor little rich girl vibes are in this book, this author covers the sensitive subject of child neglect. Their mom is around, but she is portrayed as flighty and irresponsible. The housekeeper plays more of a parental role than their parents do. The fact that the mom’s boyfriend tried to date all four of the sisters first is a little weird. Another thing is how they were not allowed to have their inheritance because they were not born males.

I really liked that this book was a little different and you got a feel for each character. In the following books, you have a history and how each sister plays a part in the story. The struggles with dating and finding a decent man are relatable somewhat. I did not like the fact that the poor little rich girl card was played. But the book is fiction and it adds something to the storyline.

The book was well edited and followed a decent storyline. I had to stop a couple of times because certain things did not make sense to me but overall, this book was well written. I would not hesitate to read another book by this author and did read the other books in this series. Anyone that enjoys romance books would enjoy this book.
