Imperfect. Book 2 by D. D. Larsen is a romantic novel that involves an 18-year-old girl, Seryna, falling in love with an undercover FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) agent, Kieran. She assists him with intel to raid a barn in Colorado that produces and distributes a dangerous mixture, GAP (Grandma’s Apple Pie), which consists of moonshine and amphetamines.

The criminals arrested comprised her brother, Duncan, and her Dad. The FBI couldn't get enough evidence to ensure they get maximum jail sentencing. Amidst the investigation, Kieran travels with Seryna to an amazing island in Britain and gets married. What started as an amazing trip quickly turns sour when her husband is kidnapped. Who could be responsible? Would Kieran survive? In this captivating piece, the bond shared by lovers is tested.

I appreciate the writing style adopted by Larsen in this magnificent piece. The intense outburst of words mixed with lots of emotions would give readers goosebumps. She portrays that the rich should not be excluded from fighting against crime. Kieran was born into a wealthy family, but he still worked with law enforcement. This book is also filled with a lot of humor that made me laugh at intervals. One instance was the scene when Seryna unwraps a present at her baby shower while discussing with her mother-in-law. The author didn't forget to give readers a little touch of jealousy in this book. I commend her for delivering fast-paced action scenes at intervals.

The character development in this book is well detailed, and this helped me to relate to the personalities. I felt a real connection with Seryna’s bodyguard, Ryan. He showed so much courage and dedication while performing his duties. The buildup of events in this book gave me jitters. The attempted kidnap of Seryna kept me at the edge of my seat.

While reading, I disliked the inclusion of excess sexual content. I already felt the connection between the lovers. I found more than ten errors while reading this book. Larsen needs to proofread and edit this piece.

Overall, I enjoyed this piece because it is packed with drama, thriller, and action. I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars because of the reasons stated above. I recommend this piece to adults that love books with lots of romance and suspense. The pages are interestingly detailed and mind-blowing. I am patiently waiting for the next book in this series.

I’m pleased that Seryna is not a minor. The story sound interesting with major plot twists; starting from Seryna giving her father and brother up to the FBI, then traveling to an amazing island and lastly, the kidnap of Seryna’s husband. Thanks for a wonderful review.

I think this is a book I would enjoy! I usually prefer my romance without a lot of action, especially if there’s violence involved! I don’t like reading about violence. Overall, I think this book would be a very interesting read. I wonder if it is a standalone piece out of it should be read as part of a series.

I don't know how I feel about including romance elements into action and thriller novels. I hope it won't be an unnecessary distraction here.

"The criminals arrested comprised her brother, Duncan, and her Dad." This statement gave me a shock. I wonder how she dealt with that. Thanks for the wonderful review.

This description of the book sounds extremely promising. I am almost always reading romance/action books so this definitely right up my alley. I love how Keiran decided to work for the FBI even though he came from money. It shows that his character is very humbled.
