Midwinter Turns to Spring by Maria Veloso is an emotion-provoking book. It is a love story unlike any other. Calling this story is a mere romantic journey would be untrue. Love is something one can not put into words nor clearly describe. If I could say that I can explain the kind of love that lives in the pages of this book, I would be lying.

In this book, the author tells a story of a love that lived through separation and recognition. Alfonso had never truly understood or experienced love until he met Savanna. He finds himself in the dilemma of doing what is right or following his heart. He never gets to decide because Savanna loving him the way she did, makes it for him. She would rather lose the love of her life than make him choose between his family or her. Desperate to change Savanna’s choice, he goes after her but, she has completely disappeared and, he is left wondering if truly she loved him at all.

I loved several things in this book. The first would be that it exposes different sides of love that I did not know existed. Secondly, it showed me how the power of endurance and determination could change a person's life course. I also loved the writing style of the author. It gives the book such an unpredictable aspect I could not tell the direction in which the book would go. I loved the characters in this book. They were so diverse, yet they brought about a kind of harmony that is rare. The book opened my eyes to a different aspect of music. This aspect taught me to connect with music on a different level. The language used in this book was so good that even a minor can read it.

I can not say that I had any negative emotions about this copy of the book. I loved the grammar. I could not spot any errors. The editors of this particular book copy did a tremendously good job. As a result, I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.

When I first read the title of the book, I immediately judged it negatively. I now believe in the common saying; do not judge a book by its cover. Do not let the cover, title or beginning of the book make you only give it a side look and move on to something new. Romance novel fans, take a chance and read about a love unlike any other.
