Forgotten Sins - Rebecca Zanetti

Post by matidoodle »

In the past, whenever people would complain about a character in a book, I never quite understood. I hadn’t come across one that truly bothered me all that much. With that said:
Never before has a character so thoroughly annoyed me as much as Josie Dean. She was so completely inconsistent in her mannerisms and thoughts. One moment she’d be fuming, the next, filled with the need to love and protect her husband. She’d hate and resent him and then fall right back into his arms. This bothered me TO NO END.
Throughout the book I noticed the almost constant use of warm cedar to describe Shane’s signature scent. While it gave a good mental image, it was a bit too in your face.
Aside from a few nitpicky things, I really did enjoy the book. The story kept my interest, and that, in the end, is the most important element. Did parts of it bother me? Yes. Will I break down and eventually end up reading the rest of the series? Absolutely.
