Review of Midwinter Turns to Spring
Have you ever pondered how spontaneous true love is? This is a magnificent love story in which two weary souls who are bound by their past meet, grieve, and fall in love.
This is the second version of Maria Veleso's book Midwinter Turns To Spring, which was released in April 2013.This is the first novel with its own soundtrack, which follows the core plot of the novel perfectly.
Alfonzo Madrigal, a youthful, curious, and overlooked young man from Spain, is driven by his history, spurred by specific individuals in his life, and he sets ashore wherever destiny takes him, where he meets Savannah Curtis, a young, stunning, and flawless young woman who gives a lecture in Madrid about the well-known work of Pablo Picasso. Alfonzo soon fell for her, and she, like him, was driven by her history, with only a few role models in her life. She, too, was drawn to him by yearning.
This novel is a fantastic read; the way love develops, and how fate plays a significant role in it, is incredible. Savannah Curtis was an introvert with a small circle of acquaintances who was always under her father's domineering control. She decided to pursue painting in the hopes of making her father proud. She painted in the distinctive art style of Pablo Picasso, which she employs to communicate her raw, unmolded emotions. She always felt stuck and wanted to prove herself and make her father pleased, whereas Alfonzo never had a home and lived with a woman named Abuelita. She was his only role model, spirit guide, and most powerful motivator to pursue his true passions. He was a musician who was always drawn to art in its purest form. He later set sail on instinct and sought destiny as a result of her. Along with that, the music soundtrack serves to heighten the emotion, drama, and plot, making the readers feel more connected to the work and its characters.
I really liked this book, and there aren't many negative features to expect when reading it. Although I suppose there are a few. The fact that both Alfonzo's and Savannah's parents abandoned them when they were children, It conveys a sense of desertion, which is not desirable. If any readers are going through the same thing with their parents, it could lead to a serious emotional state. Of course, the author did not mean for it to be perceived in that light, but it is still a fantastic novel.
This is a book I recommend to open-minded readers who are interested in romance books and love in general. This book has shown how the concepts of love and fate collide from beginning to conclusion, as well as praising it because of its own musical soundtrack, which includes Flamenco-flavored ballads and instrumental theme tunes.
