A romance novel ,A Long Dark Rainbow by Michael tappenden, a story that has the main characters being Alexander James "Alex" and Samantha Reagan "Sam". It is an erotic novel that tells of how they first met at Sam and her husband's dinner party. 40 years later,Alex met sam for the second time in a charity shop where she works. They held several meetings and started feeling an emptiness whenever it went back to their houses.

The reason for picking this book was because I wanted to know how an old couple relationship could work especially it being an erotic novel. However,in my every page I found it being a very exciting story and I looked forward to know the ending. I would rate this book 4 out of 4.

The author gives a clear picture of emotions and events that took place in the couple's life. Michael tappenden has given the reader enough time to understand every detail contained in the couple's life especially in the erotic scenes that caught my interest in this book. Michael has also given the characters thought that gave it a good flow and made it easy for my understanding throughout the book.

A long dark rainbow goes deep into explaining on the characters personality, their secrets, past lives and how being together have helped them overcome all their fears. One of the things that stood out to me was how they all came to a conclusion of preferring the word f**k over the three lettered word. I also found this novel well edited as I could only find one minor error.

With how detailed Michael tappenden is in the erotic scenes and has also used profane words it will not be suitable for younger readers.
