A memoir that reminds us that challenges are only there to make us strong and not kill us. Despite the adversities that the proganist faced we see her remain resilient. Congrats on being BOTD.

It is actually wrong for parents to blame children for their failed marriages. I wonder what Allison must have gone through. I look forward to seeing how she overcomes this. Nicely written.

Thanks for your review. It seems this memoir will tell us the story of a young Taiwanese woman who has to cope with life in America without anyone by her side for help.

This is not only an inspiring memoir but also one that informs readers about Taiwanese people and their culture. Allison sounds like a strong woman, and I'm sure many people who've read this book are glad she shared her story.

This is a heart-touching story that depicts the life of Allison. She had no parental love when she was young and she still suffered at the hands of the man she married. He ran away with everything she owned and left her stranded in a country she has little idea of. She indeed went through a lot. I hope things turned out well at last. Congrats on the BOTD.

This sounds like a heart-wrenching memoir about one woman's harrowing tale of parental neglect. Both parents treat her and her sibling poorly, making them feel like they are unwanted. Thanks for the detailed review.

Excellent review. It broke my heart reading this sample. It seems that Allison could not catch a break. Growing up without love, having her husband walk out on her; bad luck just seemed to have her name written all over it. Yet, despite the odds, she persevered and pulled through. This is also a book of courage and strength. The author does a masterful of evoking emotions from his readers. Kudos on a job well done and being selected for BOTD.

Thank you for this great review! This books sounds so amazing. The story seems like it should be fictional because of the craziness of it. I cannot believe the author had to go through a life like this! Definitely going to read.

This memoir must be read by those who are loved and love-deprived. Both readers can get important lessons as to how Allison coped up with the wicked parents and with the loving church she got in. Thank you for your review.

Imagine yourself being told by your father that he hated girls meanwhile you're a girl.
This is so odd but in all this Allison stayed strong. I love your review.

Wait, Mormons consider themselves Christian? In any case, I'm glad they turned out to be good people, as a whole.

The book's title is intriguing me. It is not easy to grow up in that kind of family. What Cameron did to her is one of the reason that make me afraid to be in a relationship. My religious parents always complain about me but being nice to the other siblings. How should I be grateful about that? Every religion has good and bad people in it. Sometimes life could be unfair for some people. This book offers a lot of messages about hardships. Some people might relate to Allison's life story and could take something from this book. Nice review.
