Passion Never Dies is an Erotica story written by author Joy Tremay about a young woman, Diana and her dream hauntingly handsome lost potential love, Jake. I give this story a 3 out of 4 star rating and this is why:

The book starts off nine years before the setting of the actual story in a nighttime beach setting. Diana is 18 years old and is a sheltered, naïve girl that decides since her terse father is out of town, she needed to escape to a young adult's night out with like-minded individuals.

Here, Tremay blooms out a young lover's story with full detail and causes all senses to imagine the surroundings to great detail. I found myself imagining the smell, sight, and sound of the ocean and beach. She really catches the reader's attention hook, line, and sinker. She also throws in that much loved conflict of unfinished business.

Chapter 1, and the rest of the story, are set nine years later, like previously mentioned. Tremay reintroduces Diana to the reader as the more mature version of her 18 year old self and living life to the fullest extent that she could. Tremay takes you through an entire scenario that leaves the reader feeling full of ecstasy and emotion from start to finish.

I found that I loved the book as a whole, but there were a few hang ups that caught my attention and I believe would catch other avid reader's attention as well.

First, the word 'voracious' or 'voraciously' was overused, in my opinion. I did a search through my Nook and found it was used seven times alone to describe kissing scenes. I need a little bit more variety as far as passionate scenes and vocabulary. For example; passionately, hungrily, insatiably, or ravenously could have been used versus so many of the same words.

On page 66 there was a grammatical error in the form of an extra word. “...[H]is eyes piercingly intent on her hers.”, is the error I am referring to. It is a simple mistake, but this is exactly why I would suggest a fresh set of eyes used to read the book before publishing it. Granted, that is the only grammar error that I found, but I would be remiss not to mention it.

Now on to the things that I absolutely adored about Passion Never Dies:

Reading the book felt effortless. I floated through the pages eating the words set before me. This book was just so easy to read and take in, that I felt fulfilled without the usual wariness from the time I spent devouring this book. I really feel that just because of the flow of the book, Tremay was meant to write Erotica novels. I simply feel that words alone are not enough to express my new interests in reading more of Tremay's work.

Another thing that I enjoyed were the conflicts of the story. Conflicts are meant to raise your blood pressure and feel that pull between characters and their situations. They are a great way to raise emotions and make the reader ravenous to pursue the rest of the book and find closure or resolution. I believe that Tremay utilized real life scenarios that plague every relationship to make an entirely believable story, yet keep the reader involved and turning pages. The protagonists were everyday relationship issues that I believe many readers, if not all, have all encountered. This alone rendered the book believable and to each and every extent, related me to the characters.

Next, I loved the ending. I will be brief in this explanation as there are no spoilers here. The ending was exactly how this story should have gone, in my opinion. Enough said.

Last, but certainly not least, I loved the characters. Now, I will say that they are basic, with some depth. They have history, emotion, factual details, and descriptions. However; Tremay used a good balance of the story, background, conflict, and the characters to create a balanced, fast paced story to make up for the lack of connection with her characters compared to past readings. Let's just say I have been in more love with other characters before, so the connection that I felt is comparison based. To praise Tremay more, I would like to reiterate that she used totally believable scenarios for conflict and I very much related to Diana in her times of lust, pain, excitability, and disbelief. I knew exactly what that girl was going through and found that I absolutely enjoyed relating to a character in the sense I was not the only one and am not alone in such feelings.

Again, I rate this read a 3 out of 4 star rating, because I believe other readers of Erotica should definitely read this very enjoyable sexy tale. The reason for a three rather than a four, is simple. Four star rating is perfect and the fact that Tremay could have easily found more descriptive wording was a turn off when I should be turned on. Other than that, I absolutely would recommend this book to anyone looking for a little excitement.
