Looking Glass Friends by E.L. Neve is a story about finding your soulmate- while at the same time struggling to live a life that does not feel like their own. Not realizing life was not as complete as the characters had hoped. The characters are craving a connection to someone who can understand them. They need to feel as if they are a part of something bigger. Like so many people getting lost in loveless marriages or relationships, they find hope. The newfound hope helps them push forward and find the life that is right for them, no matter the cost—along the way, teaching them to fight for happiness and life in general.

The best part is the book gave you hope and belief that finding your soulmate is possible. The author shows us how important it is never to give up or lose hope that life can be better showing that you can live however you want. No matter how scary change can be, the characters never gave up; they kept moving forward and evolving. I like how the characters were empowered to fight for what they believed was right for them—never giving up on their dreams or each other. I walked away from the book feeling that love is truly worth fighting for and never be willing to give up on finding your soulmate.

It is hard to dislike things about the book as I found it excellent and easy to read. I was not too fond of the violence shown because a man felt inferior to another. Violence should never be the answer, but it is reality, unfortunately.

I would rate the book 4 out of 4. E. L. Neve did a great job writing the book. There was no grammar or spelling error, and it kept my attention throughout the whole book. To be honest, I was hoping for a little more to the ending. Maybe it was just greed in not wanting the story to end. Plus, the book title Looking Glass Friends was very original, and after reading the story, it fits perfectly.

I would recommend this for adults as there is some sexual content and violence. It would be hard for adolescents to understand the characters' loss without having some relationship/life experiences. Also, those who have experienced violence against themselves may find parts of the story hard to read or maybe could find it relatable.
