Despite growing up in hardship, Emma Davis is an upcoming actress who may just have gotten her big break in Hollywood after a movie she stars in is nominated at the Cannes Film Festival, aka the "French Oscars." She is very excited about her trip to France for the awards, particularly about walking the red carpet and meeting up with her friend and colleague, Annie Stewart, and both stars decide to take a trip to Monaco for a night of fun at the Monte Carlo casino on the eve of the award show. There, Emma will be forced to revisit an aspect of her life that she has kept closed for a while after her divorce, as she meets Trent Collins. Their connection is strong, and he continuously ticks all the boxes for Emma's dream man. Nevertheless, Emma must work through her fears from her past relationship and the long distance between them. Will love prevail?

A Night at the Monte Carlo by Elizabeth Rossi is a tale of love expertly intertwined with friendship and adventure. Elizabeth Rossi brilliantly executes the first-person perspective throughout the story, as Emma's distinct voice takes control in narrating events. The first aspect of the book I like, and I am sure most readers will agree, is the characters that the author offers throughout the story, my favorite being the main character, Emma. Her story of coming from nothing and aspiring to become successful immediately made her relatable to me, but it was her self-awareness and ability to step out of her comfort zone that made me fall in love with her.

Throughout the story, Emma divulges bits of who she is, and we see her continuously observe and pick up lessons from her friends and surroundings, including lessons on the significance of gratitude, practicing empathy, and living fully in the present. Those lessons were highlights of the story for me, and some of them were very hilarious. Emma's observant nature also shines through while she takes the time to describe events in detail, which is key because we join her on trips to London and a couple of cities in France, and she does well to give us a wonderful tour of these places while she experienced them.

Trent is also a lovable character, and while readers will have to read for a while before they meet him, it will be well worth the wait. He is the perfect gentleman, and I could literally feel the instant connection between him and Emma. Nevertheless, with Emma's past failed relationship, I was left to wonder if this one would work out or not, especially considering how quickly things moved and the long distance between them. You will have to pick up a copy of this suspenseful book to find out the fate of their relationship. I also liked that the author focused more on the emotional connection between both characters over the physical or sexual aspects.

Nonetheless, I did not enjoy that there were a lot of errors while reading. These errors were mostly minor but could have been reduced by employing the services of a professional editor. Besides this, I did not find any aspect of the book I did not like. The story ends in a way that guarantees that there will be a sequel to the book, and I very much look forward to reading it. I rate this book three out of four stars, with the errors being the only reason it doesn't receive the maximum rating. If you enjoy light-hearted romance novels, this is not a book you will want to miss out on.

A well-written review. Having been to Monte Carlo, I was intrigued with the title although since I am not a fan of the romance genre, I'm going to pass on this one.

this review talks about the life of a certain celebrity who happened to be not really happy because of her failed relationship, but aside from that she still manages and moves on with her life as a celebrity.

I would like to read this one because I have this fascination of going to France. So, maybe if I read this one, I get to learn interesting things about France and maybe the French people.
