Review of Loving Preston
Sharon grew up in Chicago and lived a life of getting teased and singled out. She worked hard for her accomplishments and gave everything she had to excel in college and graduate. After college, she was able to obtain the job of her dreams. When she met Steven, she finally had her first real relationship and thought he was the man of her dreams. However, she soon found out he was too good to be true. Once married, she discovered he not only was not what he seemed, but far worse. After a chain of events occurred, she made up her mind, and she and their son left. Soon the situation turned worse and had them running for their lives.
On their way south, she stopped and picked up a man whose car had broken down. While she was frightened at the time, she had no idea how that one decision would forever alter her life.
My favorite part of Loving Preston was how easy the story was to read. I also enjoyed how the author, Maria Pryor Herndon, used Sharon to show a woman of incredible strength, courage, and determination. Rather than stay stuck in a dangerous life for her and her son, she dared to escape and build a new life. She had a future full of unknowns, and she faced them. I also loved how the author used Sharon’s church and her faith and prayer to help guide her decisions throughout her life. This book also showed how you can’t live in the past, and that just because you had one bad relationship doesn’t mean you can’t love again.
One substantial negative aspect of this book was how poorly edited it seemed. Between the errors I found, the very long sentences, and the many exclamation points, I found myself getting distracted. However, I had no negatives with the story itself.
I would rate this book two out of four stars. It was a good story, but I felt it was poorly edited. I found several errors throughout the book. I also noticed some sentences seemed very long. However, it was still a good story.
Any lover of romance would be a good audience for this book. This book is also suitable for those who enjoy a quick, easy read. Due to its length being shorter than most, it did not take long to read. This book is also suitable for those who are a fan of inspirational and faith-based romances.
