When you finish reading a book and are left with wanting to read it again and again, you know it’s a good book. Looking Glass Friends is just that book, checking off all the boxes of a good romance.

Ellie thought her life was perfect. She had Jake, (her handsome, and wealthy husband) Johnny (her bright, and adventurous young son) a mansion, a fancy car, and more money than you could count. Who would have thought that a trip to Bake 4U bakery could change everything? "I am the meaning of my life," Neil said, quoting Ellie's favorite book that changed his life in a way he didn't even know possible. Ellie didn't know what real love was until Neil came into her life, a stranger she had just thought needed some guidance. She never saw the friendship with Neil coming and that it would build into so much more, but she was already committed to a husband, who she shared a child with. How could she just walk away from the life she had already built with Jake? Neil was ready to end it all until the book given by a stranger captivated him in the best ways possible. Fay, Neil’s wife, became a stranger in their own home after that book was given to her husband as a gift from a strange woman. True love will give you the courage to change everything you once new.

I absolutely loved reading this book. I found it to be professionally written and easy to follow along with. One of my favorite parts is the letters Ellie and Neil shared back and forth between each other, and the way E L Neve brought these characters to life. Through all the poetry,
the books, the emails, and the complicated situations of being in a marriage without true love, it had me intrigued from the first page til the last and looking for my own Looking Glass Friends.

I honestly do not have and negatives to take away with this book. I am utterly smitten.

I'm rating this book with a 4 out of 4.
If you're hopeless romantic like myself, then this book is definitely for you. If you believe in soulmates, then this book is for you. If romance isn't your thing, then I would not recommend it for you. If you're looking for something a little smutty, then it's not for you either but there are definitely a few steamy moments.
