do you think a romance book is better with or without 18+ content?

I think that romance is definitely better with 18+ content if it's written correctly. It adds a little more spice to an already steaming book- it can be extremely satisfying compared to if it were just fade to black. It can add to the bond between the two characters.

I think having 18+ contents keeps things spicy and exciting. I generally prefer books like that. But then again it depends on the storyline and how well-written a book is. A romance book without any 18+ content can still be very interesting and captivating.

Honestly, it depends on the author. I usually prefer adult content, but I've read some books where the 18+ scenes were very poorly written. I've also become hooked on a series where adult time is mentioned as happening, but not detailed and very glossed over.

I think some definitely are. When it is a book about an older couple who are facing real life problems and they're of a certain age it just feels unrealistic if there aren't any 18+ scenes. It is a natural part of a relationships that I feel shouldn't be left out.

I now usually prefer 18+ content in romance book, it makes the book spicey and interesting for young adults. It also adds to realistic nature of romance which most of times will involve the sexual nature of sides.

There are plenty of books for everyone! I do like spicy content but I could see how people might not. But it needs to be well-written. No one has time to read poorly written spice (that makes you roll your eyes rather than cheer). HAHA.

I agree with the others. It truly depends. Some books it really isn’t needed. It can be important in other books. I suppose it depends on the actual romance between the characters. If we are talking about a true emotional connection, then no, I don’t think it’s necessary. However, if the character is focusing on a physical or sexual connection, then it is necessary.

I usually just skip parts that are 18+ I don't even really know the reasons...I just know I skip them. So I'd prefer no 18+ content, the romance alone should be well written.

I don't think it's necessary and I'm sure some people wouldn't like it but personally I prefer it.

I think that Romance does not require to have "Smut" in it, but I truly love a good smut book.... So it depends on the surrounding plot. I mean take SJM. She has her YA stories and her... not so YA stories. I LOVE both series equally.

I think it depends on the storyline. Although 18+ does usually add spice to the story.

I think the 18+ content just adds more spice to a book and makes it more interesting for the adults and also engaging. By the way most people love erotic books and movies so I think it would be great to have such content.

I think that sometimes it depends on the book and depends on how it has been written within the book because there are times where I think it really suits the book and makes it much more exiting but sometimes it can be little off putting. However 18+ spice does always make me want to read further into the book. No matter if it is good bad or cringy.

I don't believe that a romance book requires a graphic sexual content to be considered a good romance book but I am a big fan of a good smut, help the development of the couple, brings a extra touch of chemistry that makes a difference
