Stolid by Aaron D. Key is a romance fiction novel that tells the story of the main character with the same name as the novel's title, Stolid. This novel uses the first-person point of view of the main character.

One day Stolid was stranded in a place that he did not know where and he did not remember why he was in that place. He wanted to hitch a ride with a passerby to London. In the end, someone wanted to pick him up, but the stranger stopped somewhere other than London. The stranger had deliberately brought Stolid to his place so that he could help recover Stolid's memory. A mysterious person who has known Stolid for a long time helps Stolid to find his identity and gives him the strength to face difficulties in life that are not easy for gay people.

One thing I like about this novel is that the author has done a fantastic job in developing the character of the main character, Stolid. He seems like a person who remains calm in the face of situations that were completely beyond his knowledge and memory. Meeting a stranger and he had absolutely no recollection of that person in the past, naturally, other people would panic and certainly wouldn't respond and act as calmly as Stolid. He also remains consistent and knows what he wants. He can express his feelings and desires to his interlocutor in his own way.

What I don't like about this novel is that the author doesn't add much drama or events between the characters in this novel. So, I feel that the climax in this novel is less captivating. Although there are still moments of suspense, the author's story focuses more on the emotions and feelings between the characters. The conversation that took place between Stolid, Johnathon, and Joseph was more about their own feelings. However, this doesn't make this novel bad, it's just that I'm the type of reader who likes lots of plots and twists in a novel.

I would give this novel 4 out of 4 stars. The language used in this novel is easy to understand and the storyline is also easy to follow. I didn't find any meaningful grammar errors or typos. This novel appears to have been professionally edited. I would recommend this novel to those who like drama, romance, and open-minded readers for gay people. Young adults can also read this novel since there is minimum profanity and minimum erotic scene.
