JW Santee meets Miss Ginny, the daughter of a wealthy man. However, as the romantic relationship continues to flourish, trouble starts brewing, and the ex-military man must be ready to protect himself and his love. A man who has been trailing him since he started seeing Ginny hires two men to stab JW and does not give up attempting to kill him. JW must find out who the man is. There will be a lot of surprises that will unfold along the way, making the story enthralling.

Adventures of J.W. Santee by J.W. Wallace is in the genre of romance. The book was published by Fulton Books in 2022. This is a beautiful love story packed with action and other adventures. It is definitely a great composition, with several familiar situations in a unique set of circumstances and distinct characters. Whereas JW and Ginny are the principal characters, the author made sure the others had indispensable roles to occupy. In the fullness of time, one feels as though they have known them for a long time.

The introduction was perfect, and I immensely enjoyed how the relationship between JW and Miss Ginny began, developing stronger as the story progressed. Additionally, instead of giving the traits of the characters, J.W. Wallace introduced them and allowed the reader to get to know them through their own stories. The reader will easily find themselves inside the story, as the characters are realistic and the plot believable. Equally, the ending perfectly fit the rest of the story, as it tied all the loose ends and was satisfying.

However, much of what happened thereafter was humdrum. Many repetitive activities occurred, punctuated by the frequent dates and a few other activities, which helped add some life to the plot. Furthermore, some sections of the book were choppy; fleshing them out more would have contributed to the mystery's suspense and grippingness. Luckily, the story became absorbing again towards the end, but for anyone who loves an exhilarating tale, the temptation to skip some parts can be very irresistible.

I give it three out of five stars because it lacks the much-needed interesting edge. The romantic tension between Miss Ginny and JW seemed to have leveled out early in the story. Overall, this is a nice depiction of the vicissitudes blocking the path of two people seeking to find true love. This book is suitable for anyone looking for a light romance book or an introduction to the genre.
