Review of Deviant by Jamie Roberts
This was my first by this author, but it won't be my last! This is a dark mystery romance, with some many layers to this book, you will stay glued till the end. As we read an discover the depth in each character, and wanting to know what made the stranger, who he is!! Then we get these glimpses of the past when Tyler was young with Ian and Dean, the author knows how to grab an hold your attention. I loved the chemistry between Tyler and Dean, when they were young, you can feel how much she still loves him, although he never came back. Tyler knows she might be crazy, but she doesn't feel in danger with her stranger. The stranger battles with the actions that he does, thinking he's right for all he is doing, that Tyler deserves what's coming.. As you read, peel back the layers of truth and lies, will they still feel the same, or will the truth be to much ...
This book makes you think, what would you do?? Your fantasy is for a faceless stranger to take you, not rape, but something more.. When it comes true, then that stranger is always there, but you have no idea who it is. Still excites you, not easy to give up. The depth of the characters are AWESOME, plot is exciting, and there is so much more to this book.
The stranger has his own reasons for doing what he does, but he fights feelings that he knows he shouldn't have. When he ready to go in for the hurt, will it be all he wants or will it be the worst thing he's done?? I truly enjoyed this so very much.. It's dark suspense romance, the ending will leave you with anticipation to read Redemption for the conclusion. Jamie Roberts, you are very talented and I'm a big fan. I recommend this to all 18 and over that enjoys a book that will take you for a crazy journey, that I enjoyed so very much. 5 STARS

So, I finished this book a week ago, but needed time to process my thoughts and feelings about it.
THIS BOOK WAS STUNNING. FANTASTIC. ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS I'VE EVER READ.
It grabbed me from page one, and held me captive until I finished. I literally read this book in one sitting. I laughed, I gasped, I got turned on, a few times had to take a deep breath and remind myself that this is just a story. But it's not just a book. It's so much more than that.
Dean and Tyler. Childhood friends with the promise of first love. They are made for each other and they both know that at a very tender age. When Dean is 18 and Tyler just 16, he tells her he has to go away, but promises to come back for her one day. He never does. She spends her life preoccupied by her job, her friends and someone she calls "her stranger", a mysterious person who seems to have all access to her life. Always in the back of her mind is Dean, and her wish that he'd return.
I absolutely love the plot line of this book. It's so intriguing and unique. This book is full of twists and turns, heartache, love, laughter, and steamy sex. I'm still thinking about these characters a full week after I finished.
I highly recommend this book. I can't say enough how much I enjoyed it. This is the first book of Jaimie's that I've read, and she's made me a fan for life.
