Love-All-the-Way is the love story of a gay man and a straight woman. How does that work you may wonder? Well, Mel Foster met Allen Shandi when he was been harassed for being gay and of course, Mel jumps in to save him, from there they form a unique bond that results in Mel falling in love with Allen’s kind soul. Allen helps Mel create a clothing line and they have fun together even deciding to have a baby together to fulfill the craving needs in both of them. When Allen discovers he has a terminal disease, it’s a sad time for everyone who knows and loves Allen. They go through the trials and tribulations of love, life, and friendship together. Read this book to go on this beautiful journey with Mel, Allen, and the rest of the crew.

Aurora Carafa has a very simple writing style making it easy to go along with the story and feel all the emotions together with the characters. The character development was top-notch. The plot was kept very realistic and there are times when you will find yourself tearing up if not straight-up bawling your eyes out. It is a very beautiful story showcasing love in its truest form.

The book is divided into five parts, making it easier to read and dissect. At the beginning of some chapters, some time stamps indicate a monumental moment for the LGBTQ community. One was when the American Psychiatric Association decided that homosexuality was not a mental illness. I can only imagine the feelings that must have been experienced by people who are a part of or who are related to people in this community.  These newsworthy bits given at the top of the chapter are both good and bad moments.

A very interesting book through and through, I never found myself bored while reading, Mel’s mannerisms were sure to keep me entertained. The book was full of kindness, which is so dearly needed in today’s world, loyalty, companionship, friendship and so many other wholesome themes that kept the book fresh and candid.  I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. The editing is superb and aside from a few mistakes here and there such as some inconsistencies with a particular character’s name and a mislabeling of a part, the book was well-edited.

I recommend this book to adults who have a relation to people with terminal diseases, I feel they’d appreciate it, and to people in the queer community. If you like books that show love in all its forms, then give this book a try.
