Welcome To My Hole by Daniel Shea is a romance novel in the form of a screenplay. It is about a store manager in Virginia and his quest to find the love of his life. Mike is a father of three and a soon-to-be divorcee working in a local store. His love, Bethel, who is a store clerk, and Solomon are deported by ICE to Eritrea. Madly in love, Mike builds a boat, takes his children with him, and is unstoppable in his pursuit to find Bethel, even if it means escaping from prison and being bitten with a broom. After their sail to and arrival in Massawa, Eritrea, Mike and the kids are welcomed with camel trekking training, which is just the calm before the storm.

I was enlightened by the book. As this is my first experience reading a screenplay novel, I was left speechless from the beginning. The book played one of my favorite songs, "You Say," as a voiceover, which made me feel like a part of the book. I admired pictures of children playing and riding camels. Although fictitious, they felt real.

Furthermore, characters are well developed. What I found humorous is how the servers whispered among themselves that Mike disliked their culture just because he denied their coffee. I could draw a picture of them in the background when that happened. I also liked how the book shared pictures of models in cultural attire. Pure beauty!

The book's title is captivating. One keeps wondering what to expect. The structure is created in a way that is easy to follow. Where there’s a song voiceover, an excerpt of the lyrics appears highlighted. I disliked nothing about the book. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys romance and screenplay novels. The text is meticulously edited, and I encountered no typos. Therefore, I give it 5 out of 5 stars.
