Official Review: Sex and the Women by

When I first read the title Sex and the Women or: How I learned to appreciate the Feel of the Pussy I decided to give it a try. It wasn’t my first erotic novel, plus the title seemed kind of funny in a way. What I should say from the beginning is that this is not like the other books from this genre that I read before. And not in a good way.
The first impression was not so good because of the language that for me was a bit forced. It’s normal for this type of novels to have words appropriate to a porn movie but in this case it was a bit too much. But things just got from bad to worse in the next chapters, where the main theme was the sexuality of a young boy. There were so many details and it made me feel so uncomfortable, that I just wanted for it to end.
After he turns 20, it gets a little bit easier to read. Still, for me it remains a novel about a misogynistic man, obsessed with sex, who never wanted anything more from a woman. Every time he met a girl, she was madly in love with him and he only wanted her for her body. Even when talking about the mother of his child, he still uses the type of language that I can’t help but find offensive and degrading.
Another thing that bothered me while reading was the constant repetition of some very specific words like “DNA”, “Mother nature”, “libido” and various names for the same body parts. Also, at some point, the author decided to use smiley or sad faces, depending on the situation, which made me feel like I was reading a teenager’s diary. All these on top of numerous spelling and grammar mistakes.
As a conclusion, the whole book was unrealistic and too obviously written from a man’s point of view. Maybe other men will like it and will be able to make a connection to the character, but for me it was a sad attempt to write an erotic novel. The story was almost inexistent and the sex scenes were most of the times disgusting. I don’t usually write such harsh reviews, but at this moment I feel like there aren’t enough words to describe how much I wanted for this book to be over.
With no hesitation I decided to rate it 1 out of 4 stars and I sincerely hope that the author will find another way to approach sexuality in his future novels.

There's enough of that in the world already. Great job getting through it. I probably would have given up.
