"Guilty of Stealing His Heart" is a wonderfully historical romance of nineteenth-century America. The novel is much more than just a love story. It's a profound examination of tenacity, atonement, and the healing power of family. The author, Nancy Lynn White, tells a sweet and heartbreaking story through the eyes of Carrie Wagner.

Carrie Wagner is the main character of the novel. Carrie is betrayed by her parents and her criminal husband, so she decides to leave her life in Ohio and start a new life in California.

She aspires to provide a loving home for orphans, but her determination is tested when two unexpected individuals, Billy and JT Grant, enter her life. Carrie's path is emotionally complex, and Billy's rough appearance and colorful language highlight her mother's instincts. JT Grant's mission to avenge his best friend's death heightens the mystery and danger.

The novel is about second chances and the enduring human spirit. The author delves into topics of betrayal, forgiveness, and the transformational power of love. Carrie's willingness to adopt orphans and provide a caring home demonstrates her resilience and desire to move beyond her sad past. The work also explores themes of justice and reparation, particularly through JT's character, who is motivated by a desire to right the wrongs of his past. The novel's historical background lends depth to these concerns.

Carrie's transformation from a deceived widow to a strong and loving mother figure is admirable. The supporting characters, especially Billy and JT, are well-developed and provide depth to the plot. The interactions between the characters, particularly the slow-burning relationship between Carrie and JT, are portrayed with care and depth.

From an editing viewpoint, the novel is well-structured, with a clear sequence of events that keeps the reader interested. The book's blend of romance, mystery, and historical knowledge makes for an engaging read. I would rate the novel 5 out of 5 stars because it’s a well-crafted and emotionally engaging novel that doesn't have any drawbacks for me.
