just by reading how you summarised the book, i have multiple emotions going through me and i cant even begin to imagine the story, how could a mother feel if her daughter was sold like that. intriguing

Sounds intriguing although I don't read romance, but maybe I should give it a try. Thank you for the review

This is the best book ever, and, it being a historical romance is a plus in my books! I love the fact that the author weaved two different people from totally different backgrounds and created a great storyline. Thank you for this great review.

Lily was taken away from her mother's arms to be sold away in an auction. Now she wishes to find her mother. She also has a talent for playing the piano. Would she be able to find her mother? Congratulations on BOTD!

I’m looking forward to digging this novel to find out how Lily survived in the world of slavery and how her talents drew her out of her miseries and hardships as she forged a relationship with James.

This is the best trilogy I have read thus far, the plot is captivating from the beginning to the end, the twists are amazing. Winning the book of the day was well deserved. Great job on the review

Thank you for your review Acwoolet. I do wish you had given a little bit more of the story as I feel I didn't learn much more than what I already gleaned from the blurb. Except that the author seemed indecisive about which accent her characters should use to speak. I am not a fan of books on slaves, slavery. or slave trade. Generally too tragic and thus any story based on these must reflect the tragedy. I don't think such things deserve to be memorialized in prose. I will not be reading this book. Thank you.

this is a title i look forward to reading so i can see exactly how the author has managed to stitch some elements of the book together to get the desired effect. The slave trade period is quite an interesting choice and i can tell it’s a big part of the cycle

This book will surely make you feel a lot of versatile feelings! I do hope that this doesn't romanticize any problematic events happening, because it will ruin the whole thing for me. Thank you for the wonderful review!

It seems like the beginning of my journey into the realm of this website is determined to set me on a course of emotional turmoil. Alas, it cannot be helped if I am to continue to be as sensitive a human bean as I am 😂. I think I could handle the accent switching, though.

This seems to be a story with a lot of food for thought. I'm interested to know the events she has to face on her journey, and if the book can be read as a stand-alone. Thank you for this interesting review. I love the mix of historical fiction and romance.

I already like lily's character. I'm wondering how she coped with the absence of her mother and been in a new environment will change things.

Romance is my least favorite genre, so I'll have to skip this book. The cliffhanger may disappoint me because I prefer a stand-alone book. The switching of accents doesn't matter to me. I hope the protagonist will be reunited with her mother. Congratulations on the BOTD.

This sounds like it would be an interesting story, but I can see why it would be difficult for the characters to continually switch up their speaking. Romance and history all rolled into one.
