I understand how switching of the accents can be a throw off and take away from the characters identity. This book review reminds me of the stories I have read and learn about slavery in my country Ghana and the mistreatment they went through especially the women. It is disheartening for both mother and child to loose each other. Will surely read this book. Thanks.

Reading from the sample pages, I could not help but want to grab a copy now and devour on Lily' s story! I would like to think that this is like the Cinderella and the Prince story. This is quite intriguing of a story of a slave girl who has found great love from someone belonging to her opposite social class.I wonder how their love will end. This is an award winning book and I know this will be a great story to follow! Congrats BOTD!
