This review shows that the writer established a strong character which is needed to have a good book. I understand how switching of the accents can be a throw off and take away from the characters identity. However I'm glad to hear that the characters traits mentioned were so strong that you would still give it a 3 out of 4. Thank you for sharing your review.

“The Prodigy Slave, Book One: Journey to Winter Garden" by Londyn Skye seems to be a very interesting read. The character of Lily sounds amazing. I like reading books with historical settings. Looking forward to reading it. Congrats on BOTD!

Sounds super fascinating. The protagonist seems like a dynamic character. Just by reading the review, I can feel both the intensity and anticipation the book brings forth. A very wonderful review.

I hurt for stories like this. I can't imagine what it must be like to be a slave for someone just because she's born with dark skin. I think I'm going to cry while reading this.

Thank you for this insightful and well-written review. Being able to connect emotionally with the characters is a great accomplishment for the author. I hope that Skye would-be consistent with the accents in the sequel.

This book review reminds me of the stories I have read and learn about slavery in my country Ghana and the mistreatment they went through especially the women. It is disheartening for both mother and child to loose each other. Will surely read this book. Thanks. :techie-studyinggray:

I really like the plot of this story. I want to know what punishment had been given to Lily that changed her life.

Reading from the sample pages, I could not help but want to grab a copy now and devour on Lily' s story! I would like to think that this is like the Cinderella and the Prince story. This is quite intriguing of a story of a slave girl who has found great love from someone belonging to her opposite social class.I wonder how their love will end. This is an award winning book and I know this will be a great story to follow! Congrats BOTD!

This sounds like a beautiful and well structured book. I'm definitely going to download it, I don't think I would mind the change in accents. Thank you so much for the encouraging review.

This love story book is really amazing even if it is in parts. It is full of intriguing scenes and being slave but it's quite good.

Congratulations on writing the Book of the Month review!

I enjoyed reading your review because it was informative about the content of the book while not giving away too much. I also appreciate the emphasis on the positives of the book. I love reading stories with characters that are, as you said, "good guys" you love and "bad guys" you love to hate. Your review clearly indicates this book is a high quality piece of literature.

Thank you for the review.
