UNBALANCED book 1 by Shepard Courtney is a fictional romance novel of 213 pages and 23 chapters, it is a novel about four sisters predestined for death from birth, it is a very interesting book in which every page turn brings something new.
The book is about The Sisters namely Aisha,Ivy,Mere,Ava who control Fire,Earth,Water and Air respectively and were destined for death from birth. With their power comes a great threat, four enemies who are not humans who from generation to generation swipe the likes of them from the face of the earth. Separated from birth and helped by priests to control their power the sisters grew separately until they are joined together under unfavorable conditions, they must find a way to defeat their enemy. The book 1 talked mostly about Asha who posses the ability to control Fire, how she rebelled from her priest and created her own haven and how she lost her family and how she was captured by the Order with no hope of escape.
Meet along the way were four brother namely Cole,Rio,Clay and Aron who also controlled Fire,Air,Earth and Water as them and they are faced with the decision of trusting this guys with same power as them as they were trained by their enemy the Order.Connections are formed, Love is also found, truths and mysteries are discovered and the sisters got to know that their father is still alive and hope that they maybe able to cheat destiny and defeat their enemy is found.
I personally love this book. Awesome characters, I love the blend between the old religion and the new world, the mixture of Swords and Guns, the rush of excitement in turning every page is overwhelming. There was no boring moment in reading this book. Although I dislike the fact that the fifth Quintessence was not written on explicitly but in a blur because I believe readers would have really loved to understand and know what the fifth Quintessence is all about.
I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. The story was easy to read even though it wasn't a short book and it wasn't predictable every new page just brings it's own excitement and each sister's personality was explicitly written on. There also were no typographical errors which states that the book was carefully edited and I recommend the book for lovers of metaphysical books and also people who love heroic female characters.
