Four sisters who have supernatural powers have to separate after meeting for the first time in their lives. Then pair up with men who are supposedly their enemies but can't help but fall for them, as they help them fight beings who are after their powers. Unbalanced is a fusion of romance, thrill, action and a bit of horror. There is undeniable attraction between enemies, unexpected love and unconditional love between sisters.
What i like about the book is that it is unpredictable, first when I read that clay and his brothers also had powers I thought Courtney would pair up fire with fire, earth and earth, wind with wind and water with water. But instead she did the opposite as Clay is earth and Asha is fire which is a good combination I could say since besides water, soil is the next thing that can put the fire out. With Asha's temper, clay is surely needed. She then paired up water and wind, which is also understandable as only wind can control water.
I also like that sisters balance each other as well, where else Asha is fierce, serious and hot headed, Mere is a happy soul, enthusiastic and joyful, Ivy down to earth, courageous and Avia is don't mess with me kind but cool otherwise.
What kept me glued to the screen is I kept hoping to see it spelled out that the sisters have all five powers but it never came. I guess it will be in the next book. Though I made it out that besides the sisters having elemental powers, I think they have much more, the power to lead and be worshiped. The power of love, life and unity(unity amongst themselves). Could it be that quintessence the fours are after? Perhaps. They could be Gods themselves that is why the fours are all hell bend to kill them not only because they feel threatened by them but maybe because they know they have something they do not have. Them being four are united, they have all five powers.
What I liked most about this books is that it is well written, from beginning to end. Keeps you in suspense yes but understandable and entertaining, you don't have to page back to look up something. I really did enjoy it, its an absolute add to my collection. If you are a fiction and romance lover, here is a must get.
I rate it 4 out of 4 stars, because it is well written, entertaining and remind us that nothing can beat the original Lols magical or not, what's been made can never top what is original. Also that love can be found in strange situations with someone you least expected.
