Review of Destiny's Game "Love or Honour" Book 1
What is it like to be rich? What is it like to be the sole heiress of an enormous fortune? Sometimes, it means not letting anyone know who you are because people will take advantage. They may ask you for things or have sinister intentions. In Destiny's Game "Love or Honour" Book 1 by Marcus Dizon, we meet the gorgeous Margarette Alexandria de Ayala and her best friend Elissandra Davis. Margarette Alexandria, or Alex to her friends and acquaintances, is, on the outside, a nasty, entitled, spoiled brat. On the inside, she is insecure and yearns for the life of a nobody. Or so she claims. Osmond Gomez is Australia's top secret agent and is successful because of his haunted past. When the Director-General of Security of Australia assigns Osmond as bodyguard to Ms. Alex, tempers flare, and sparks fly. How can he keep this prima donna safe without trying to strangle her himself?
There isn't much about this book that I liked. The storyline was promising, but the execution was highly disappointing.
This book has so many mistakes that it is apparent the author, Marcus Dizon, did not have it professionally edited. For example, the author repeated the entire second chapter. It reads as if written in another language and then poorly translated. Sentence structure is a problem in more than half the book. The author uses grandiose words in many instances, while most of the book is simpler. I found numerous punctuation errors, such as missing or extra commas. There are many instances of words missing from sentences. Also, sometimes words did not have spaces between them, such as "goodluck" and "bestfriend". Another mistake is incomplete sentences, such as "As the only child and daughter of Australia's richest businessman, Mr. Enrique de Ayala." The last mistake I will mention is the author used the wrong tense of a word, such as goes instead of go. Marcus Dizon should have had someone proofread this book before publishing it.
I unfortunately have to give Destiny's Game "Love or Honour" Book 1 a rating of 1 out of 5 stars because the storyline was confusing, the ending didn't make sense, and it appears no one edited this book.
It is hard to recommend this book to anyone. It is a light read, but the lack of editing makes it challenging.
