H.M Irwing’s book, Heartaches 2, is the second book in the Bad Boy Vibes series. This book kicks off at the point where the first book, Heartaches 1, ends. The dominant themes in this book are; sex, romance and rape. I would sound a warning to young readers to desist from reading this book since it has an array sexy romantic scenes and incidences of rape which may not fit you well. Those people who are prone to traumatization due to sex and rape are also warned from reading this book. It may not be for you.
Just like in the first book of this series, the main characters in this book are Rafe Brown and Anna Walters Simmons. These two main characters have had a very troubled past. They are both striving to heal from the adverse effects of rape. They seek justice legally but fail to find it. Rafe fights against Eric Dayton, one of the individuals who inflicted suffering in the lives of the duo. The author has written this book using the highest skills possible. He also reflects the feelings of the characters very well. This made me to like this book very much.
The frequent exchanges between the characters helped me a lot in knowing their emotions. At times, I felt for characters like Rafe and Anna. The plot of this book flows at a steady pace and the story is very engaging. The author is smart in ensuring that he hooks his audience by use of turns and twists. I liked the author’s strong development of characters. Anna is for example developed into a character that is determined to revenge and seek justice.
This book is highly dotted with much struggle and feelings of both the flowery cast of characters and the audience of readers. The erotica oozes out of this book frequently like a fountain of water. I think that most, if not all readers, will not fail to drink from this great fountain of erotica. In an attempt to add taste to this story, the author adds spices such as action and mystery. The conversations and actions were indeed inspiring throughout the story.
The author develops new storylines by the introduction of new characters. He finishes this book Heartaches 2 in great suspense to make readers develop appetite for the final book in this trilogy, Heartaches 3. There is only one issue that I did not like about the book. There is no true love between Rafe and Anna. Their love is bare since it has been eroded of its trust. Rafe constantly asks Anna if indeed she truly loves him. In true love, lovers do not always need frequent assurance that they truly love one another. Their love should be found deep in their blood. Nonetheless, this did not make me to hate this book.
I greatly loved this book and would recommend it to fans of romance, action and mystery. Since I failed to notice any mistake in this book, I decided to give it 4 out of 4 stars. It is a very perfect book.
