Devilish is a beautiful work of fiction set in New York City. A romance story on earth, but involves heaven and hell characters. Janet Lambardi, an aspiring anchor for the Fox 5 news of New York City, sees a light streak in the sky and follows it. This is an uncommon occurrence and she hopes to be the first to report it considering, it's a slow news day. As she arrives at Central Park, she witnesses something unbelievable. At the bottom of the crater lies a naked man who identifies himself as the Devil.

Twenty-two-year-old, Felicity Claire, is a junior reporter at the New York Times. Just like any other journalist out there, she's looking for the big break in her career. And what better way than to interview the devil himself. Felicity's parents were both people of science—her mother, a psychologist, and her father, an engineer—so she was raised with no religion. Therefore, when Lucifer escapes hell and lands on earth; this is a perfect opportunity to make it big. Ordinarily, no one accepts to go anywhere near the devil; but, the determination Fay has: is beyond crazy. She gets the interview she wants, nevertheless, it isn't served on a silver platter. Lucifer is handsome, well-built, and his physique is every woman's dream. Despite being a virgin, it doesn't restrict Fay from lusting after him. Using his paranormal powers, he easily seduces her, but the tables might turn unexpectedly.

When I first saw this book, I thought it was a normal cliche story consequently, Barr proves me wrong. Despite its sappiness; it has an amazing storyline, a steady plot and some interesting drama. A confirmation of the proverb 'not all that glitters is gold.' The lust and smut in this book are prevalent but, not overdone. In fact, the sex scenes are so vivid and descriptive, but just enough to keep you on edge.

The language used is relatively simple and easy to comprehend. Nice paragraphing, good sentence structure and excellent grammar use. An epic aspect of the book; the heart logo used at the beginning of every chapter. The author has thrown in some mind-reading, teleporting and use of extraordinary powers. These edges the book nicely. Generally, the work done in this book is good.

The rating I give is 4 out of 4 stars. The errors are minimal meaning, editing was well done. This book has an age cap as it contains lots of sex, make-outs, and mild language. Also, if you have religious reservations, you might want to avoid it as you may be offended. The book is meant to be read with an open mind. I recommend it to all romance fiction lovers, especially sappy one.
