Mary J Williams' One way or another is a beautiful non fiction novel entwined with bits of romance, a grand mix guaranteed to keep the reader turning each page with a smile close by.

It's a tale that introduces us to the wealthy Benedict family most importantly the four Benedict sisters; Andi, Calder, Bruce and Destry. Despite the fact that these girls only share a mother who left their upbringing to basically themselves, they are incredibly close in fact they are described as a force to reckon with. Always setting up time to be together, supporting each other and generally having each others backs even when they grow up.

Their large fortune is always attracting men who see them for their money and worth rather than themselves is a common phenomena that they have always been encumbered with. Hugo despite the fact that he is considered rich and successful is a despicable fortune hunter who set out to preposition each of the Benedict sisters from the eldest to the youngest with the same purpose of finding a way into obtaining a part of their fortune. When he fails he turns his advances to their mother Billie and the girls are soon drawn to interfere with their relationship.

The quartet know nothing much about love or even have faith that the notion truly exists. All this is courtesy of their mother, for a start, each of the girls have different fathers even the twins, Calder and Bruce are not spared. Not to mention her numerous affairs, marriages and consequent divorces from time to time over the years which have pretty much ruined the picture. Even Andi who thought she had found the love of her life is currently nursing a heart break after the man she thought loved her left her. None of the girls have had any encounter with Cupid that is until Calder meets the arrogant handsome Adam.

The author's book is laced with loads of wit, the story itself guaranteed to pique one's interest and maintain it easily leaving one tearing through the chapters hungry for more right from the start till the end. Plus the language employed as the tale is woven is easy to understand and flows seamlessly painting images true as the story unfolds.

Frankly there is nothing not to like inOne way or another. It is a must read. This in mind I rate the novel 4 out of 4 stars. It's simply one of those books that portrays the beauty, strength and sacrifices that are made in the name of love, fighting for what one believes is right and protecting family.

A definite read for everyone who enjoys non fiction, hard headed girls with minds of their own and a good old romantic ending.
